Upon arrival at Calama airport, you’ll be transferred by shuttle to San Pedro de Atacama (a 90-minute drive). During the journey, you’ll traverse the driest part of the desert to reach the oasis of San Pedro de Atacama.

Day 5: San Pedro de Atacama - Fly to Santiago

This day of your family tour in the Atacama Desert begins with a private transfer from your accommodation in San Pedro de Atacama to  Calama Airport, located about 100 km away. From there, you will take your flight to Santiago, Chile (approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes), and enjoy the views of the mountains of Chilean Desert.

Day 6: Santiago - Flight to Easter Island

The day begins with breakfast at your hotel near Santiago Airport. After checking out, you take the complimentary private transfer to the domestic flight terminal, where you check in and go through security. Your flight to Easter Island departs at 9:00 a.m. and lasts approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes. You arrive at Mataveri Airport on Easter Island, or Rapa Nui as it is known in the native language, at 12:30 p.m. local time (the island is two hours behind mainland Chile).  This marks the start of your easter island family tour.  Upon arrival, our representative will be waiting to give you a detailed program of your activities and excursions, along with updated departure times for each day. Afterward, a shared transfer takes you to your hotel, located about 10 minutes away. In the afternoon, you can visit the village and the Tahai archaeological site, on your own.

Day 7: Half Day Ahu Vinapu

Enjoy this Half Day and learn about the architecture that resembles pre-Inca constructions. At the end of this excursion, you will explore Hanga Piko Bay, where you can see the Ahu Riata, restored in 2000, next to the fishing port.

Day 8: Half Day Tour to Akivi

Today, you will embark on two half-day excursions. In the morning, you will start with a visit to the ceremonial site of Tahai, featuring three platforms (Ahu) with restored statues. Additionally, you will see the remains of a boathouse, a stone chicken coop, and a pier entirely built from stone. You will then proceed to visit Ahu Huri A Urenga and Ahu Akivi, a platform with seven restored Moai. These visits make the Chile tour for families both fun and educational. Next, you will visit the Puna Pau quarry, where the Pukao or headdresses of the Moai were carved.

Day 9: Return from Easter Island to Santiago de Chile

 **Optional Tour: At dawn: Sunrise excursion to Ahu Tongariki, the most spectacular archaeological site on Easter Island. Here, you can witness the sunrise in front of the 15 Moai, the colossal stone statues that represent the ancestors of the indigenous people. The sun rises directly behind the Moai, creating a play of light and shadow. You can take incredible photos and feel part of the history and magic of this unique place. This is a private tour with an English speaking guide.

After bidding farewell to Easter Island, a land of mystery and charm, you prepare to return to Santiago, Chile. Your group transfer will take you to Easter Island Airport. You will board a LATAM Airlines flight that will take you to Santiago in approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes. During the flight, you can once again admire the breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the Andes upon arrival. Once at Santiago’s international airport, our representative will be waiting to take you to your hotel, located just a few minutes away. After settling into your room, you can relax after the long journey. If you wish, you can take advantage of the hotel’s amenities, such as the restaurant, bar, or fitness center.

Day 10: Departure for Your Country

In the last day of your Chile Atacama Easter Island tour for families and after spending a restful night at the hotel near Santiago Airport, you prepare to board the flight that will take you back to your country. After checking out of the hotel, you take the private transfer that will bring you to the airport. Upon arriving at Santiago’s international airport, you will independently check your luggage and obtain your boarding passes for your intercontinental flight.
