 Important notice regarding availability:

 The availability of accommodation and services in the Torres del Paine National Park is limited, especially in the high seasons: from December 23 to January 5 and February. Even outside these dates, it is advisable to book several months in advance. The availability of accommodation in the huts along the Trek W is the most critical factor. It is forbidden by the park to engage in the trek without having bookings in camps or huts along the itinerary.

Example Itinerary

Day 1: PUERTO NATALES – MILODON CAVE - TORRES DEL PAINE NATIONAL PARK

You will be picked up at your hotel at 8 am. The day starts with a 30 minutes transfer to the Mylodon Cave Park. A short stop to admire the landscape from the top of the Devil's chair. In this first visit of the day, you will first spend some time in the small interpretation center to learn about this giant sloth used to live in the area and the human settlements 11.000 years ago. Then you will visit the Big cave, the medium cave, and the Condor viewpoint. The day continues with a 2 hours transfer to Torres del Paine National Park. Once inside the park, we will stop by the Lake Grey area, where we will go for a 1-hour hike to the lake's shores and observe the icebergs traveling to the headwaters of the Grey River. Afterward, we will keep crossing the park towards the Las Torres area. On the way, we will stop in various sites of interest, such as Lake Pehue and Salto Grande (big waterfall).
We will arrive in Las Torres by 6 pm.

Day 2: LAS TORRES – TORRES DEL PAINE HIKE–LAS TORRES

Hiking day to the most emblematic spot of the Park, the Mirador Base Torres. During the first part, you will walk through the pampa, crossing the Ascencio River and then climb about 3 km until you reach Paso del Viento. Here, you will enjoy incredible views towards the valley, lakes and glaciers. You will continue until you reach the Chilean refuge and then go into a forest of oak trees and reach “La Morrena”, where the hardest part of the trekking begins. After 45 minutes of arduous ascent up a rocky path, you will reach the spectacular Mirador Base Torres where you can enjoy the majesty of the South Towers (2,850 m.s.n.m.), Central (2,800 m.s.n.m.), and North (2,600 m.s.n.m.). After contemplating the spectacular image, you will return to the comfort of Las Torres, have dinner and get ready for the following day.

Day 3: ESTANCIA LAS TORRES– FRENCH CAMP

With the spectacular Cuernos del Paine on the right, and the colors of Lake Nordenskjöld on the left, you will walk towards the French sector. This day the walk will be easier, there will be no big slopes and the journey will be shorter and faster than the previous day. On the way, you will hike at the foothill of the Cuernos del Paine and Mount Almirante Nieto (2,670 m.a.s.l.), a massif of temperamental climate.

Day 4: FRENCH CAMP – FRENCH VALLEY -PAINE GRANDE (20 kms)

Today you will visit another of the most emblematic and magical places of the Park, the impressive French Valley. The trekking will begin with a smooth walk in the direction of the Italian camp. Here, you will begin to climb through the valley and after an hour and a half of ascent, you will arrive at the “French Viewpoint”. Here you will see very closely one of the hanging glaciers of Cerro Paine Grande and, with any luck, you can witness an ice detachment (avalanche). With that impressive view circling in your head you will continue advancing through a forest of oak trees, to the British sector. Get ready, it is probably the only time in your life that you see such a show: the magnificent Valle del Francés, flooded by its colossal mountains and granite walls whose unique shapes and colors will leave you breathless. The return will be along the same downhill path until we reach the Italian camp, and then turn west towards the Paine Grande Sector, where we will spend the night.

Day 5: PAINE GRANDE – GREY GLACIER VIEWPOINT - GREY CAMP

This will be a smoother hike day. The trail presents some ascents and descents, crossing forests of ñirres, cohigues and notros, ( all different kinds of Patagonian oak) and with the majestic and heavily glaciated Cerro Paine Grande (the highest summit of the massif with 3050 m.a.s.l.) and its hanging glaciers to your left. We will get at Grey Camp and continue to Grey Glacier viewpoint. From there you will see the Patagonian icefield.
Hike: 4 to 5 hours

Distance: 16 k / 9,9 miles
Difficulty: Intermediate

Day 6: GREY CAMP – PAINE GRANDE CAMP – LAKE PEHUE CROSSING – TRANSFER TO PUERTO NATALES

Easy hike back to Paine Grande Camp, (3 hours). In the afternoon, you will take a catamaran across Lake Pehue ( 20 minutes) and get to Pudeto. Then take a bus to Puerto Natales ( 3 hours) and transferred to your hotel.

Optional: In the morning you will have the option to take a Kayak excursion to the Grey Glacier (not included in the cost, must be booked in advance), then start the trek to Paine Grande area. Extra cost per person: U$d 120
